Oman - Jabal Al Akdhar (Green Mountain)
These pictures are from a two day trip to Jabal Al Akhdar.. Apparently, it's the highest mountain range in the gulf region; it would be nice to tell you how high, but all I can say is really high (Ok about 10,000 feet above sea level) It's in the Addakhiliya (Interior) region of Oman. There's a city at the top of the mountain range, on the plateau.. Apparently, in the old days they used to transport goods up there by helicopter.. now there's a paved road.. but they only let you ascend if you have a 4 wheel drive..
So here we are on the way... I was travelling with my cousins and their kiddos..

Crazynina thanks! I havent been to Salala but i hear its nice, green and mountainous.. and the people speak an incomprehensible jibali language, gotta check it out one day!
Yes Doons.. yemen needs more water!! U know they have 2% of the world average per capita consumption! I've got a time-share in a lovely bathtub, once a month or so.. depends on the rain. Oh and thats not binbrek methinks its the other tribe..
Mazeeeni kuwapi wewe?? Vipi imtihani na reesaach yangoo?? Vipi wa toto na goatseeyako? As the yemeni's say "La Tiglag!"
Wawie, yeah i'm still in yemen, here for a while longer.. Their english is pretty good actually, but havent met too many politicians yet, more bureacrats and dabab drivers. Ive actually escaped a few qat chewings and yeah its interesting to watch.. u'd think some of them were sucking on tennis balls.. quite bulbous.. how u doing??
hsgql
p.s. perhaps more pics when i am once more connected to this ninhi.. cybaa space
