Saudi Arabia - Potpourri

Hey Ya'll,

I'm still in Yemen.. I was in Dubai earlier but I'm going to show u some pics of Saudia.. the last pics from there.. heheh.. these are just some miscellaneous pics that, for one reason or another, I want you to see..

Sandeep.. these are the Tintin books I was telling u about.. I used to read these same books when I was a kid.. I tried to buy them off the librarian.. but he was being a fool... You can see how the kids have been treating these precious books. I had to keep myself from crying!!

Bobo this is the humanoid-sized chess board I was telling u about. Unfortunately, this day they were cleaning the pieces.. :(

This is our Mazda station wagon in Saudi.. its about as old as I am.. It's cool when all the warning lights are flashing .. as they are in picture..

I just like the sand in this picture..

At night things are very peaceful... but if u get close to the ground.. u'll see world of frenzy.. as nocturnal bugs crawl this way and that.. frantically going nowhere in particular

Shaq this picture is for u!

This is a small part of Thuqbah.. the place where u can get anything on your car fixed or "fiddled" with.. for the right price of course.

Zahra.. this is your old friend.. remember him??

And this is my favourite sidewalk in the whole wide world.

Here's the bus stop by our old house.. it was first just a bus stop.. then it became a small groccery store and a bus stop.. then it was just a bus stop.. and now its a full blown restaurant and yes.. a bus stop too.. its actually very busy in the evening.

Here are some bugs.. .. ok.. this is the end of the saudi pics.. Sorry for the large pictures.. halfway through I got too lazy to resize (or rotate) them.. I'm tired and my feet are cold.. so I'll just say gbye.

Pictures of Yemen will come very soon.. have a nice day.

wowie salim, thanks for the pictures....oh how i miss the days of tintin reading, watching bugs on the ground and going to bed with lizards...sure beats the humming sounds here and hearing the footsteps and fallen marbles of our upstairs neighbours......can't wait to be reunited with you and get out all my pent up agression...ahem,...i mean affection, affection....

-Car: -
>clean white shoes= 7 points

>cars status: clean, tidy, but is that a baby blue thermos in the corner??= 3 points
>flashing warning lights: 25 point!

>Total= 39 points. V. Good.

-Beach: ahhhhh.. *nostalgia*

-Steak House: Warning! Giant larvae on window! Run! RUN DAMMIT!!!

-Garage: I want that blue car. Snazzy!

-Wall: -
reaction 1= huh? What am I looking at? * very confused.. as usual*
reaction 2= ahh! *shock and surprise!*
reaction 3= coooooool

-Sidewalk: he’s lying he’s lying! It’s a wall!!

Hey Salim, it's Corry... your fellow Manulife soccer hooligan. Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I've been loving your pictures and musings on here... keep it up!

And just so you know, my brothers and I ADORED TinTin books when we were younger... just seeing that pile brought back many memories.

Anyways, take it easy!

Hey middle child, I can't wait to bite you too. It wasn't the same in UPM without your red tape, wall of awards, or plastic bag collection. Yes remember that? heheh bah..

Heyloo Wawie.. You still haven't told us your secret!! Btw the twins are Ida's twins.. do u know Ida (in California)? Oh and btw.. that isnt a beach picture.. its just some sand behind the rec. centre.. and yes it IS a sidewalk.. and no.. its not a thermos.. just a water bottle :)

Fellow Manulife hooligan! Good to hear from you! How's the term going?? I miss your sarcasm! I hear the team is on a serious losing streak!! (Why so many exclamation marks?!)
